“Plumecast launched at HAZMAT 2018”
Staff from Met Engineering Limited were present at NCEC’s 2018 Hazmat Exhibition and Conference, held at the Crowne Plaza, Stratford-upon-Avon on 23 and 24 May 2018, to launch Plumecast, an invaluable decision support tool for dealing with hazardous airborne plumes.
Plumecast makes use of a highly responsive ultrasonic anemometer to feed wind data at one second intervals to a PC running a sophisticated dispersion model. The software then displays the area at risk from a hazardous release, and can also plot the estimated actual position of an airborne plume.
Plumecast runs continuously 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, so that information is available immediately an incident occurs.
